Timeline of Destiny
1993
180 million years in the making
The moment I saw Jurassic Park in the cinema as a kid, I was floored - it dawned on me that someone got paid to make dinosaurs. A mix of awe and a dash of fear ignited a passion within me. In an instant, I found my calling.
1996
Mr. VHS
Armed with a borrowed VHS camera from my high school, I eagerly produced my first film. Editing was an adventure itself - Non-linear computer based editing was barely a thing then, and our family computer sure couldn’t do it.
I jerry-rigged a setup between the camera and a VCR. Despite the painstaking process, it was pure magic.
2003
The cutting room floor
Fresh out of film school, editing had stolen my heart. As a certified computer geek, it just sort of clicked. I plunged into a creative whirlwind, editing student films, commercials, wedding videos, and more. My practicum in Vancouver was a dream come true - working at a post-production house, I cut trailers, music videos, and crafted engaging PSAs for TV. Every day was a new adventure.
2006
The early days
Back in Kamloops I started my first video production company, CJN PRODUCTIONS. During this time I fine-tuned my cinematography and interview skills. In a time when internet video wasn't mainstream yet, I worked with larger companies that had distribution. I produced an enlightening show for Community Futures, highlighting local startups. I also contributed community stories to Shaw TV, and crafted local business ads for Yellow Pages Video and CFJC.
2010
Director of photography
I produced a weekly TV show centered on business acumen, marketing, and spirited competition. That very project led me to co-found Mastermind Studios. For a fulfilling decade, I immersed myself as the Director of Photography and Studio Manager, honing an array of skills, and fostering some great relationships.
2020
The promised Land
I sensed the surging local need for video marketing as online video began to flourish. It was a eureka moment - time to harness two decades of hard-earned knowledge and craft something extraordinary. Thus, Jordan Nicholson Video Marketing was born, with a heartfelt mission to empower business owners to wield the magic of video effectively.

Finding the magic
This is where my journey has led me – helping you make the most of this golden era in video marketing. I’ve developed systems that allow me to cut out what doesn’t work, and focus purely on results.
